Fortify Youth
Fortify is the youth movement of Corowa Baptist Church.
Joining our church at the start of 2015 as lead pastor, David has a passion to know Jesus and to make Jesus known. He grew up in Canberra where he found the truth of Jesus and was born again over the Easter period of 2001. David loves Jesus, the Bible, helping people, preaching and seeing people grow in their faith. He also enjoys various sports, drinking coffee and spending time with His family. Married to Bec they have 4 wonderful children and he would like to connect with you.
Noah joined the team at Corowa Baptist in early 2017, and is passionate about the gospel, young people, and church revitalisation. He loves kayaking, exploring national parks and good coffee.
The Vine Church is a church plant, formed from parts of our church family, to go and reach neighbouring Rutherglen. Pastor Nick and Jane Taylor were sent out into rutherglen starting with a home group, and then transitioning to a church in early 2017.
The message of the Bible is that God wants to have a personal relationship with everyone he has created.
The Man
Jesus was born in a small rural town roughly 2 000 years ago. He was born into a lower–class family, to a teenage virgin mum and lived a relatively quiet life until the age of 30. At this time Jesus began his public ministry. Throughout the next three years, Jesus performed miracles, preached messages and proclaimed He was God by His word and His works. As promised, Jesus was crucified on a Roman cross to save humanity from sin, Satan and death. On the third day, Jesus rose from death and appeared to hundreds before ascending into the clouds to join His heavenly Father.
The Mission
Jesus arrived on the stage of human history on a mission — to reveal who God is, to show His reign as King and to reconcile men and women to God. In reconciling us to God, Jesus lived and died as a sacrificial substitute, living perfectly in the place of sinners, and dying gruesomely in the place of the guilty. Jesus is therefore the saviour of the world, the only way for sinners to be saved from the righteous wrath of God. Jesus accomplished His mission through His death, atoning for our sin, and through His resurrection, rising in victory over Satan, sin and death.
The Message
Throughout His ministry, Jesus preached a consistent message. Jesus proclaimed that true life consisted in following him. Jesus calls us to repent of our rebellion, and believe in Him. We are to believe that Jesus is our all–satisfying saviour, and that He accomplished His mission in the place of our failure.
For those who believe in Him, Jesus promises them eternal life, abundant joy, the help of the Holy Spirit and reconciliation with God the Father. Those who believe in Jesus are freed from their sin, guilt and shame, and commissioned to continue His mission in sacrificially serving the world and proclaiming the good news of Jesus.
One day Jesus will return, and all things will be restored to the praise of His glorious grace.

Our Vision and Values
Mission Statement
To know Jesus and to make Jesus known.
Vision Statement
To lead people to Jesus Christ that they might become His passionate disciples, ministering within the church and beyond, to the glory of God and the expansion of the kingdom.
Vision and Values
Depending on God
As God’s creation, we need Him to supply our daily needs and to grow in our faith. As such, we are people who seek God through Bible reading and prayer, trusting that God’s Holy Spirit will guide each of us and our Church. We are thankful that we are at peace with God because of the forgiveness that Jesus won for us on the cross. We have hope for the future based firmly on the resurrection of Jesus.
Encouraging Each Other
We are a group of people of different ages and backgrounds who are united in Jesus Christ. We seek to be involved in each other’s lives by living life together, helping one another, meeting in small groups and by worshiping together on Sundays. We encourage each other to live out our faith in Jesus every day of our lives. This is evident in our desire to love and serve one another.
Living for God’s Glory
We have been saved through the precious work of Jesus Christ and born into the family of God. We believe that Jesus is our Lord and we want to honour Jesus each day by living for Him. Following the example of Jesus, we live out our Heavenly Father’s will for us. This is evident in our individual choices and through all organised ministries of our Church.
Joining in Genuine Worship
In all that we say and do we desire to worship God with our time, resources and actions. We seek to be authentic in our faith and daily struggles as we live for Jesus. In our Sunday worship services we seek to honour God by praising Him in song, looking to the Bible to understand God’s truth and praying for God’s spirit to transform us.
Making Disciples
Following the Great Commission (the important task given to us by Jesus to go and make disciples of all the nations, Matthew 28:16-20) we seek to make disciples of Jesus in our community and wherever God leads us.
Blessing our Community
We believe God has planted us in this region to make a difference and to expand His kingdom. We endeavour to reach out into our community so that people will hear about God’s good news. We value serving our community with God’s unconditional love.
Having a Kingdom of God Focus
We believe our Church has a role to play in helping the spread of the good news of Jesus to the entire world. We value supporting missionaries and supporting projects that expand God’s kingdom locally and further afield.

What we believe
In short, we are a church that is passionate about the Good News of Jesus. We believe that Jesus is the answer to humanity's biggest problem: separation from God. By dying in our place, Jesus made us right with God. But Jesus didn't stay dead: He rose again! We are a community of people that lives with the hope that this message brings.
We believe that the Bible is God's Word, given to us -- His people, the Church. And so on Sundays, we get together to celebrate this good news and dig into His Word. We are a Baptist Church and a part of the NSW & ACT Baptist Association, and so we fully believe in the Baptist Statement of Beliefs (below)
There is one God Who is eternal personal Spirit. He is infinite in power, wisdom, holiness and love. God is Triune in essential being and revealed to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
The Deity and Humanity of Christ.
Jesus Christ as the second Person of the Godhead is eternally one with God the Father of whose person and glory Jesus is the accurate expression. To become human He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, so that two whole and perfect natures, the nature of God and human nature, were united in one Person; truly God and truly human.
The Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit as the third Person of the Trinity is eternally one with the Father and the Son yet He is sent by Them to achieve the divine purpose in the world and in the Church.
The Divine Inspiration of the Scriptures.
The Scriptures, consisting of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, are the infallible Word of God. They were written by holy people of God inspired by the Holy Spirit and have supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
The Sinfulness of People.
People were made in the image of God and for fellowship with God. By transgression of God's command humankind fell from fellowship with God and their nature was corrupted. As a consequence all people are spiritually dead under Satan's dominion and control and subject to God's wrath and condemnation. Therefore, apart from God's grace, people are helpless and hopeless.
Christ's Atonement for Human Sin.
In order to redeem people from the guilt, penalty and power of sin, Jesus Christ became human and died a sacrificial death as our representative substitute. By His resurrection, God's acceptance of His atoning death was demonstrated. This atonement is sufficient for the whole world, but effective only in those who received it. The sinner is justified and reconciled to God, not through any personal merit, but solely on the basis of God's gracious gift of salvation in Jesus Christ received through faith.
The Work of the Holy Spirit in Salvation.
The ministry of the Holy Spirit is necessary for the acceptance of God's provision of salvation. The Holy Spirit convinces sinners of their sinfulness, leads them to personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour and so brings them to spiritual birth as God's children and to fellowship in Christ. Working within the life of believers the Holy Spirit makes real the presence of Christ, witnesses to their relationship with God, leads into all truth, bestows gifts for effective service and produces graces for holy living.
The Church.
The Church is the body of people whom God has separated from the world through faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. All regenerate persons are members of the universal Church of God which takes local form wherever groups of believers unite for worship, fellowship and service in accordance with scriptural principles. All believers are called to a priestly ministry in the offering of spiritual sacrifices and sent into the world to be witnesses. God calls individuals to positions of oversight and leadership or to special ministries. The Church recognises such by ordaining pastors, commissioning missionaries, appointing deacons and other leaders, following New Testament practice.
The Baptism of Believers Only by Immersion.
Baptism is an ordinance of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is a public declaration of a person's faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. In accordance with New Testament Scripture it should be administered only by total immersion which symbolises the believer's identification with Christ in death, burial and resurrection, the remission of sins and the believer's dedication of himself to God to live and walk in newness of life.
The Communion.
The Lord's Supper is an ordinance of the Lord Jesus Christ instituted by Him to be celebrated with the elements of bread and wine by believers in Christ until the end of the age. It commemorates and declares our thanks for the Lord's substitutionary death. The celebration of the ordinance expresses our fellowship with and in the Lord Jesus Christ as members of the Body of which He is the Head.
The Return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
At the end of this age, according to His promise, Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly in His glory to the earth. The full consummation of the Kingdom of God awaits His return.
The Resurrection of the Dead.
At the end of the age, there is to be a resurrection both of the righteous and the unrighteous. After death people's bodies return to dust, but their spirits return immediately to God - the righteous to be with Him and the unrighteous to be reserved for the judgment.
Rewards and Punishments in a Future State.
God has appointed a day of final judgement for the world. At that time Jesus Christ will judge every person and each will receive reward or punishment according to their deeds. Those judged righteous, in their resurrected and glorified bodies, will receive their reward and will dwell forever in Heaven with the Lord. The unrighteous will be consigned to Hell, the place of everlasting punishment.
